REGIONAL SUSTAINABLE ENERGY INITIATIVE (IRED)

With a view to providing access to sustainable energy for all eight (08) UEMOA member states, the UEMOA Commission set up the Regional Initiative for Sustainable Energy (IRED) in 2009, with two main objectives:
– universal access to energy services at an affordable average price;
– an 82% share of renewable energies in the Union’s overall energy mix.
